Project Manager

Position Overview

 We are looking for a driven and experienced Project Manager to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone who understands the construction process, can manage multiple moving parts, and knows how to keep clients, subcontractors, design teams, and internal staff aligned from preconstruction through closeout.

The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing construction projects from start to finish. This includes budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, client communication, procurement, change order management, document control, and project closeout.

The right candidate will be organized, proactive, professional, and capable of owning the project instead of simply tracking it. We are looking for someone who can lead, problem solve, communicate clearly, and help Construx Co continue to scale the right way.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, landlords, and internal team members.
  • Manage retail, franchise, healthcare, institutional, and national chain commercial projects where brand standards, timelines, and communication are critical.
  • Prepare and manage project schedules, budgets, submittals, RFIs, change orders, purchase orders, contracts, and project documentation.
  • Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, proposals, and project documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Lead project meetings and provide clear follow up communication.
  • Track project costs, budgets, change orders, and overall project profitability.
  • Work closely with the superintendent to ensure field execution aligns with the project schedule, budget, contract requirements, and client expectations.
  • Coordinate with national chain clients, franchise groups, ownership teams, landlords, municipalities, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Identify project risks early and create solutions before they become larger issues.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and represent Construx Co. professionally.
  • Coordinate project closeout including punch list, warranty information, as builts, manuals, final inspections, and turnover documentation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 to 7 years of experience in commercial construction project management preferred.
  • Experience managing retail, franchise, restaurant, healthcare, institutional, or national chain commercial projects is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and project documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time.
  • Experience working with owners, architects, engineers, landlords, vendors, subcontractors, and municipal officials.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable leading meetings and communicating directly with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and construction management software.
  • Strong leadership skills and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Must be dependable, organized, accountable, and willing to take ownership of the work.

Assistant Project Manager (Commercial Construction)

 Location: Hartford, CT (regional travel required)
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $72,000 – $85,000

Position Overview

 We’re looking for an Assistant Project Manager with 2–3 years of commercial construction experience who can operate independently, stay organized under pressure, and support project execution without constant oversight.

This is not a purely administrative role. You will be expected to actively contribute to keeping projects on track and moving forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage RFIs, submittals, and project documentation from start to finish
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and design teams to maintain schedule and workflow
  • Assist in project scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking
  • Support Project Managers in day-to-day project execution
  • Track and manage change orders and project financials
  • Participate in project meetings and drive follow-ups to completion
  • Assist with permitting and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication across all stakeholders

Qualifications 

  • 2–3 years of experience in commercial construction (GC or CM preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and project lifecycle
  • Experience with Procore, Autodesk Build, or similar construction management software preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Construction Superintendent 

Pay: $81,614.91 – $98,288.92 per year

Position Overview

We are seeking a Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on interior commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for managing all on-site activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced interior fit-out environments, is highly organized, and knows how to keep multiple trades moving efficiently in tight spaces.

This position is primarily based in Connecticut, but will require travel to job sites throughout New England and occasionally beyond depending on project needs.
