Projects have included upgraded mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, custom millwork, soundproofing, dedicated infusion rooms, nurses’ stations, waiting areas and staff spaces. Healthcare environments also require close coordination of building systems, life-safety requirements, specialty equipment and finishes, often within highly detailed construction documents and demanding project schedules.

Hospitality & Renovation: Norwich Inn and Spa
Hospitality renovation projects require a different type of construction management. Unlike ground-up construction, renovation teams must continuously work around existing conditions, identify unforeseen field conditions and integrate new construction into an existing building while maintaining the design intent and minimizing disruption to ongoing operations.
At the Norwich Inn and Spa, Construx renovated guest rooms and bathrooms across two floors, with upgrades including new flooring, finishes, furnishings, showers, vanities and fixtures. The project also included reconfiguring rooms to meet ADA accessibility requirements.
Executing hospitality renovation work successfully requires careful field coordination, sequencing of trades and the ability to adapt as existing conditions are uncovered. Office: Barclay Damon LLP
Office construction is about more than creating attractive space. The construction must support how an organization operates while integrating architectural design, building systems, technology, life safety and employee functionality.
For Barclay Damon LLP in New Haven, Construx built out approximately 10,000 square feet of office space from an existing shell. The project included MEP rough-ins, drywall, storefront glazing, life-safety systems, millwork and finishes to create a polished, professional workplace.
Transforming shell space into a finished office requires significant coordination between architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and finish trades. Careful sequencing and attention to detail are critical to ensuring that everything behind the walls works as intended while delivering the level of finish expected in a professional environment.
The result demonstrates the coordination required to turn an unfinished space into a complete workplace designed around a client’s day-to-day operational needs.
Education: Miss Porter’s School Dormitories
Educational construction requires careful consideration of how spaces support campus life, student wellbeing, safety and long-term facility operations. It also frequently requires construction teams to work within active campuses where phasing, logistics and schedule coordination are especially important.
Construx has completed interior and exterior renovations across multiple dormitories at Miss Porter’s School in Farmington. Improvements have included new flooring and finishes, lighting, air conditioning, upgraded fire alarm systems, roofing and select kitchen and resident director apartment renovations.

For Jamba Juice at Westfarms, Construx completed the build-out with the operational needs of a quick-service restaurant in mind, coordinating the systems, equipment and finishes required to bring the recognizable Jamba experience into a busy retail setting.
Restaurant projects require careful coordination of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems with food-service equipment, millwork and architectural finishes.
