Building Connections at ICSC@NEW ENGLAND 2026
July 2026

At Construx Co., we believe that building exceptional retail spaces starts long before construction begins. It starts with understanding where the industry is headed, listening to the conversations shaping the future, and building relationships with the people driving that change.

That’s why our President, Larry Mason, attended ICSC@NEW ENGLAND 2026 in Boston on July 13–14, alongside Sarah Wadle of First Position Media. Bringing together developers, retailers, brokers, architects, contractors and industry partners from across the region, the conference provided valuable opportunities to connect, exchange ideas and stay ahead of the trends shaping today’s marketplaces.

One message stood out throughout the event: retail spaces are becoming increasingly social.

Today’s retail spaces are about much more than transactions. They’re evolving into destinations where people gather, dine, work, connect and spend time together. As consumer expectations continue to shift, successful retail environments are being designed with experience, community and flexibility at their core.

That theme extended beyond the educational sessions. One of the conference highlights was the optional Harbor Cruise – Network and Sail Through the Tall Ships, where attendees had the opportunity to connect while cruising through Boston Harbor with the city’s Seaport skyline as a backdrop. Surrounded by historic tall ships during America 250, the event served as a fitting reminder of New England’s rich maritime heritage while creating a memorable setting for meaningful conversations and new industry connections.

For Construx, conversations like these reinforce the importance of the work we do every day. Whether we’re building a healthcare facility, restaurant, fitness center or retail space, we’re creating environments that help businesses connect with their communities.

The conference also served as a reminder of the value of showing up. Consistently attending industry events like ICSC allows us to strengthen existing relationships, build new partnerships and stay connected to the challenges and opportunities our clients are facing. Those conversations help us bring fresh ideas and informed perspectives back to every project.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect with so many professionals across the industry and look forward to continuing the conversations that began in Boston.
